BCom Student Funding Requests

The UBC Sauder School of Business and the Commerce Undergraduate Society (CUS) value the enhancement of the student experience and have committed to provide funding to support students in their personal endeavors and student-led initiatives.

Term 1 Application Deadline: September 27, 2017
Term 2 Application Deadline: tbd, 2018

Eligible Experiences

Funding is available to current BCom students in good academic standing to offset expenses for a variety of experiences, including but not limited to:

  • Personal Experiences:

    • Volunteering/Service Learning
    • Case Competitions (not already supported by UBC Sauder Faculty)
    • Conferences
    • Personal/Professional Development
  • Student-Led Initiatives

    • Conferences
    • Competitions
    • Student Event/Program
    • Student Service

Applicants are required to demonstrate in their application the impact this experience will have on their personal, professional or academic experience, or that of other BCom students. 

Please note the restrictions outlined in the funding guidelines below. Also note that this funding model includes the current Special Projects Funding administered by the CUS, in addition to UGO Student Funding administered by the Undergraduate Office.

Application Process

Submit this online application by the deadlines stated above. All applicants will be notified no later than October 18, 2017 for Term 1 funding, and tbd for Term 2 funding. Successful applicants will be required to submit a Letter of Impact.

If granted funding, individual applicants and student-led initiatives are not permitted to apply for funding again for a minimum of three academic years. For example, if funding is granted in the 2017-2018 year, an application for the same student or initiative will not be considered again until the 2020-2021 academic year.

Academic concession will not be provided for any student who misses coursework or exams due to any of the experiences outlined below.
